N2 - Several new intergrowth phases are discovered in Hg-Tl-Ba-Ca-Cu-O compounds by transmission electron microscopic (TEM) observations. These phases can be classified into two groups. In the first group, the phases are formed by a regular intergrowth between different members of the so-called (Hg,Tl)-22(n - 1)n homologous series. On the other hand, the phases of the second group are formed by the intergrowth between members of (Hg,Tl)-22(n - 1)n and those of (Hg,Tl)-12(n - 1)n. Based on the TEM observations, the sub-lattices, stacking orders, lattice parameters and crystal symmetry for the new phases are determined. The structural model for each phase is proposed.
